Young Life began in Spearfish!! Since then, we have been committed to serving over 255 young people of our community.
Our MISSION is to introduce adolescents in the Spearfish and surrounding areas to Jesus Christ, helping them grow in their faith.
Young Life and Wyldlife is a place where youth can feel like they belong and have caring adults come alongside them to build significant relationships.

An important part of our commitment to kids is SAFETY. Our staff and volunteer leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity. Young Life's Human Resources Department has developed mission-wide policies and procedures to ensure kids are protected when they are with Young Life staff and/or leaders, as well as when kids are part of Young Life sponsored activities.
Spearfish Young Life is committed to kids by providing them with a safe place to explore life and the One who created it. ​ We carefully screen our leaders to ensure they are men and women of integrity. All volunteers are trained and supervised by a staff member.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ TRAINING

Our staff and volunteers receive training in the signs and symptoms associated with child abuse, teen suicide, self-harm, and other crisis situations. They receive training related to appropriate crisis intervention steps.

​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ RESOURCES

Young Life has a 24/7 crisis line our leaders can call to speak with a licensed professional with concerns about the safety of any student including advice toward necessary steps ensuring their safety.

Young Life begins in the USA

In a town in Texas, at the request of his pastor, a young associate pastor named Jim Raybrun began showing young people how much God cares about them by showing up in their world and sharing the message of God's love through Jesus in ways and words they could understand and relate to.
